Well, here's the rest of the story...

A little about us in 2006

Elizabeth & Drew met in May 1994 on a PR trip when Drew was in the singing group "Friends" at Florida College. We didn't start dating until Drew went down to F.C. for the annual Bible lectureship the following February. We married a year later and now have two children. We adopted Jacob Andrew when he was 4 weeks old. He came home on July 7, 2000 and although we saw him when he was 2 weeks old, we had to wait an additional 2 weeks because of a technical paperwork boo-boo. He has been the joy of our lives for the last 6 years. Adoption has been very special for us, and we hope and pray to adopt again while we are here in Memphis. But the most special thing about our adoption is Jacob and Amberlee themselves. Jacob is in school, and enjoys every minute of it. There's nothing like waking up early to a little girl in the other room talking to herself about Mama or Daddy, or talking to Ariel, Big Bird, or some Princess she has in her room! Of course that's a thing any parent can enjoy, but it sure is a special thing to adopt a baby.

Amberlee Grace was brought into our family in Dec. 2003.  ON December 23 - right before Christmas - we brought her home.  Amberlee is about 3 now, and has more hair than most human girls.  She is beautiful, and while she does have a lot of hair, she is sweeter than honey - and a crazy kid too!  She is a delight...   She has single-handedly slain every male in the Ellis family.

Elizabeth has taught High School English and P.E. for 4 years, and is can't wait to be a full-time homemaker again. She presently works at Lipscomb University. For 3 years, Drew taught 10th Grade Bible at Harding Academy of Memphis. A one-time Alabama All-State runner, Drew also has a passion for Cross-Country and Track. He coached the Varsity Girls' programs for all 3 years there at Harding Academy. He is pursuing his Masters in Christian Ministry at Harding University Graduate School of Religion in Old Testament Studies. (For you avid American Restoration Movement students, Harding Graduate School's library in Memphis has the most extensive Microfische collection of writings in the country.) Career aspirations for both of us are to teach. While that may happen again one day, for now, Drew has been fortunate to be hired as the Asst. Director of Membership for the Barbershop Harmony Society - his hobby - and a great way to pass time with friends.

We have many hobbies, but for Elizabeth, "Sweet Adelines" and being a mommy of 2 seem to take most of her interest. Elizabeth is a baritone in the TuneTown Show Chorus... and a great one!  She sings in a quartet called Jada - and hopes ot make it to the big stage and be one of the top 50 quartets in the world. She is a joy for us to be around and her smile lights up our home. She is the first person Jacob, now Amberlee, (and Daddy) go to if they are hurt, cranky, or just needs a big hug.

For Drew, it is an avid love of singing - primarily in the Barbershop Style, but there is also a great love for singing all types of music. Having been a part of numerous other vocal groups, including 50's a cappella, 60's & 70's classic rock & oldies, and vocal jazz. Drew is a member of the Nashville Music City barbershop chorus and also sings occasionally with friends in that chorus in local gigs - such as the Music Man! A recent local production, Drew joined Shane Scott, Jesse Turner, and Eddie Holt in the School Board role in the Music Man (the Quartet!) Drew collects license plates too.
