Elizabeth & Drew met in May 1994 on a PR trip when Drew was in the singing group "Friends" at Florida College. We didn't start dating until Drew went down to F.C. for the annual Bible lectureship the following February. We married a year later and now have one child. We adopted Jacob Andrew when he was 4 weeks old. He came home on July 7, 2000 and although we saw him when he was 2 weeks old, we had to wait an additional 2 weeks because of a technical paperwork boo-boo. He has been the joy of our lives for the last 2 years. Adoption has been very special for us, and we hope and pray to adopt again while we are here in Memphis. But the most special thing about our adoption is Jacob himself. There's nothing like waking up early to a little boy in the other room talking to himself about Mama or Daddy, or talking to Elmo, Big Bird, or some other friend he has in his room! Of course that's a thing any parent can enjoy, but it sure is a special thing to adopt a baby.
Elizabeth has taught High School English and P.E. for 4 years, and is now a homemaker. She will be working a part-time teaching position in Elementary P.E. at Harding Academy in Memphis. Drew is the 10th Grade Bible teacher at Harding Academy of Memphis. At that level the first semester is in Christian Evidences and 2nd Semester is the book of Acts. He is also pursuing his Masters Degree at Harding University Graduate School of Religion in Old Testament Studies. (For you avid American Restoration Movement students, Harding Graduate School's library in Memphis has the most extensive Microfische collection of writings in the country.) Career aspirations for both of us are to teach. Drew has preached the gospel of Christ part-time for about 5 years so Biblical studies and preaching are a running priority that envelopes other career hopes and dreams. For the gospel of Christ is "the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, to the Jew and Gentile..." Romans 1:16.
We have many hobbies, but for Elizabeth, "Stampin' Up" and both Coaching and playing sports seem to take most of her interest. Elizabeth is a part-time Elementary P.E. teacher at Harding Academy of Memphis. She also coaches Cross-Country as a Varsity Assistant and loves the kids. She is a joy for us to be around and her smile lights up our home. She is the first person Jacob (and Daddy) goes to if he's hurt, cranky, or just needs a big hug. For Drew, it is an avid love of singing - primarily in the Barbershop Style, but there is also a great love for singing in his 50's Acapella group, The Lifters. Drew is a member of the Memphis barbershop chorus and also a quartet within that chorus. Drew collects license plates and shot glasses (look people, they're cheap souvenirs!!!). Jacob's hobbies include, watching Veggie Tales, Sesame Street and Toy Story, and anything that has to do with Nanna or Pap in Alabama. Jacob loves to sing with Daddy in the car, loves to "roll the gospel chariot" and he also loves peas and carrots... right out of the freezer. (YeeHaa!!!) We have other family but will spare you the details because your probably didn't read this far anyway. Thanks for visiting!!!
